Another effective self help technique is meditation. While most types of meditation helps in reducing anxiety, mindfulness meditation provider relief from anxiety. With regular meditation, you find a boost in the functioning of the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that displays serenity and joy.

Anxiety makes a person breathe heavily. Breathing fast can cause dizziness, lightheadedness, breathlessness and tingling of the hands and feet. A deep breath from the diaphragm will avoid this symptom of anxiety. Breathing normally would make the entire body calm also.

Getting into a Healthy Diet

Choosing nutritious foods with the right quantity in each food groups would provide a good and healthy body and mind. Avoiding processed and fatty foods and caffeine from coffee, soda and cocoa would give a better state to the body. The caffeine can cause anxiety attacks.

Vitamins and minerals is needed to promote the body’s well state, so multi-vitamins must also be included in the daily diet. A healthy well-being helps the person overcome anxiety.

Do Regular Exercise Most of the Time

Last, but not least, a very effective anxiety self help technique is exercise. All you have to do is to exercise for about thirty minutes a day to release the endorphins of your body. These endorphins are natural mood enhancing chemicals found in your body, which are much better and healthier than any mood enhancing drug a doctor or psychiatrist may prescribe for overcoming anxiety.
