Do You Enjoy Your Own Company?

Some people hate to be left to their own devices and wander around in a low mood looking for things to occupy their minds. Others thrive when left with time alone, feeling comfortable and seeming to have an abundance of things to do. These are two opposite ends of a spectrum upon which we are all positioned in one place or another.

How you feel when left with only your own company will depend upon more than just one factor. Your nature, your temperament, will have impact and so will your most familiar experiences throughout life. Your feelings of self sufficiency and self confidence will also always influence your reactions and responses.

To be left completely alone without stimulation of any kind is one of the greatest punishments which can be meted out; solitary confinement is acknowledged to be an extremely unpleasant experience. We human beings do need company and interaction, although how much we need for optimal comfort will differ from one individual to another.

For some people to be in a crowded place or social situation can be equally unpleasant and may indeed trigger extreme panic reactions. Those who suffer from social phobia will know exactly what this feels like.

Extreme situations will elicit feelings of discomfort in the majority of people and so we accept this as being normal. But when one experiences extreme reactions to more moderate situations we know that this is rather less normal and more unique to the individual. An interaction between nature and nurture lies at the root of such uncomfortable feelings.

Whether your feeling is that of being uncomfortable in your own company or anxious when presented with social situations you do have the power to change these instinctive reactions. Even the temperament you are born with can be tempered when focused upon in the right way. And although you cannot change the experiences you have been exposed to you can change the way in which you think and feel about them.

Knowing that it is possible to change your thoughts, feelings and reactions is the very first step to making positive improvements to your quality and enjoyment of life. Most people never get this far; they do not believe that they can change and so they live within the walls of their own limited and limiting belief systems.

Once you do take that first step and dare to believe that you can change, then hypnosis becomes a very powerful form of assistance. Hypnosis opens up your mind by allowing you to access your subconscious and explore your instinctive thoughts and beliefs. Not only can you explore and discover patterns of thought you can also implant new seeds of positive belief and behavior.

Repetition breeds success. Those seeds of positive thought will also require some maintenance, not in terms of water and sunshine, but simply through repetition. One of the easiest ways in which this can be achieved is by listening to a hypnosis mp3 download which repeats suggestions and affirmations to empower you. Positive change becomes a whole lot easier with the help of hypnosis.
